Brown Wood Frame
Location: Grand Tetons National Park, Jackson Hole, Wyoming
Inspiration: The landscape work of the Hudson River Schoo of Artists.
This was an oil painting study in the Plein air environment and applying some of the techniques of the Hudson River School of Artist. Grand Teton Adventure utilizes the warm color palette scheme including some warm Ultramarine blue, Yellow ochre, Cobalt violet and Phthalo Green . The beautiful oil painting has dramatic forms and vigorous technique reflecting the British aesthetic theory of Sublime in nature. The painting began with an outdoor sketch in oils. Light influenced the form of the mountains and trees. Illumination of the snow in the mountains demonstrates the attention to detail. This was a study of the Grand Tetons at dawn or early light.
